Place a fraud alert on your credit reports and review your credit reports. Call the toll free fraud number of anyone of the three major credit bureaus to place a fraud alert on your credit report. All three reports will be sent to you free of charge.

Immediately close any accounts that have been tampered with or opened fraudulently and:

  • File a report with your local police department

  • File a complaint with the FTC (1-877-438-4338).


How Identity Thieves get your information:

  • They steal your mail

  • They complete a "Change of Address" form

  • They rummage through your trash

  • They use personal information you share on the internet

  • They pose as someone that has legitimate access to your information

  • They steal personal information from your home

  • They pose as a company you do business with and send emails asking for information
